01
What we collect
Your account
- Name and email address, from the details you enter or from Apple or Google if you sign in that way.
- What you told us during onboarding — the kind of work you do, and the goal you picked.
What you put in the app
- Your promises: what you wrote, when they are due, how long you gave them, and whether you kept them.
- Your focus sessions: start and end times, length, breaks, and whether the session was finished or abandoned.
- The subjects or projects you group them under.
Device and app
- Device model, operating system version, app version, and a device identifier.
- A push notification token, if you allow reminders. It is stored on your profile so we can send them.
- Crash and performance data, so we can find what broke.
Purchases
- Whether you have an active FocusMinny Pro subscription. We never see or store your card details — Apple and Google handle payment, and only tell us whether the subscription is active.
02
What we use it for
- To run the app: showing your promises, timing your sessions, and keeping your record.
- To sync across your devices and restore your data if you reinstall.
- To send the reminders you asked for.
- To let Minny plan and coach — see the next section.
- To fix crashes, measure performance, and decide what to build.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not use your data to advertise to you, and we do not build profiles for anyone else.
03
The AI features, specifically
Minny's planning and coaching run on a language model provided by OpenAI. This only happens when you use one of those features, and only what that feature needs is sent:
- Planning with Minny. The messages you type in that conversation, and the promises and session history the plan has to fit around.
- Photographing a list. The photo is sent to be read, and the text it contains comes back as promises. The photo is not stored — not by us, and not in your account.
- Mid-session coaching and your daily brief. What the current promise says, how the session is going, and a summary of your recent record.
Your name, email address and payment details are never sent to the model. Data sent through the API is not used to train it.
04
Who else touches it
We do not sell or rent your personal information. It reaches these companies only so the app can work:
- Supabase — the database and sign-in that store your account and your promises.
- OpenAI — the model behind the AI features, as described above.
- RevenueCat — checks whether your subscription is active.
- Apple and Google — sign-in, payment, and push notification delivery.
- Firebase — crash reporting and app analytics.
Beyond that, we share information only with your explicit consent, to comply with a legal obligation such as a court order, or to protect the rights of FocusMinny or its users.
05
How it's protected
- Encrypted. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Fenced off. Database rules restrict every row to the account that owns it. Only authorised personnel can reach personal data, and only for a legitimate reason.
- Watched. We run regular security monitoring and vulnerability scans.
06
Your control over it
- See it. Everything we hold about your work is visible in the app — that is what the app is.
- Correct it. Edit or delete any promise, session, or profile detail at any time.
- Delete all of it. Account → Delete account removes your account and the data attached to it. You can also write to us and we will do it.
- Turn things off. Reminders, photo access, and the AI features are each optional, and the app works without them.
07
How long we keep it
Your promises and sessions stay until you delete them or delete your account. After that, we keep data only where the law requires it, or where we need it to resolve a dispute or protect legitimate rights. Once that period passes, it is securely deleted or anonymised.
08
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app or the law changes. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use FocusMinny after that means you accept the updated policy.
